Gilbert Tom Beaven was born in Bath 5-1-1891 & was working as a motor mechanic & fitter before he enlisted in to the R.N.A.S 24-3-1916.He served in France prior to his discharge with ill health in 1917. Egypt Medal, dated 1882, British War Medal, Khedives Star, 1882, Commanders Servant G.H. NEF/GVF with minor contact marks in the obverse field & complete with medal roll details. He is also entitled to the scarce single clasp Khedives Sudan medal with Atbara clasp. *three companies were deployed but did not see any fighting. Charles Depledge from Glass Houghton near Castleford enlisted in to the K.O.Y.L.I 31-8-1914 & was transferred to the Hawke battalion of the Royal Naval Division 8-9-1914 He was recorded as a prisoner of war at Antwerp 5-12-1914 & he spent the rest of his war in German captivity until his final release & discharge in 1919. The recipient enlisted 8-9-1914 & first landed in France 26-8-1915 serving with the 10th service battalion of the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment.He was discharged with a silver war badge due to wounds 2-11-1919. He was a long serving member of the Yorkshire Hussars having being awarded his T.F.E.M in army order 234 dated 1-7-1913. Some light scratching over naming, but fully readable.
